Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of www.ceylonsgrove.com and to purchases made from Ceylons Grove through our website.

Please read these Terms before placing an order. By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

1. About us

This website is operated by:

CEYLONS GROVE LTD
71–75 Shelton Street
Covent Garden
London
WC2H 9JQ
United Kingdom

Company number: 17443175

Email: info@ceylonsgrove.com
Website: www.ceylonsgrove.com

2. These Terms

These Terms apply primarily to purchases made by individual consumers for personal use.

Business, wholesale or trade purchases may be subject to separate terms agreed with us.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website or applicable law. Any changes will apply prospectively and will not change the terms of an order that has already formed a contract between you and us.

The version displayed on our website at the relevant time should be retained for your records. UK online-selling rules require customers to be able to store and reproduce applicable terms.

3. Our products

We take reasonable care to ensure that product names, descriptions, ingredients, quantities, images and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

Product images are intended to represent the product accurately. Packaging may occasionally be updated, but any product supplied must still conform to the description applicable to your purchase and your statutory rights are not affected.

4. Ingredients, allergens and food information

Please read the product information and packaging before consuming our products.

Where legally required, information such as ingredients, allergens, net quantity, storage instructions, best-before information and preparation instructions will be provided on the product packaging.

Customers with allergies or intolerances should check the ingredient and allergen information on the pack received before consumption, particularly because suppliers, formulations or manufacturing arrangements may change over time.

If you have a question regarding ingredients or allergens, contact:

info@ceylonsgrove.com

5. Website information and health information

Any general information on our website about tea, herbs, spices, ingredients, brewing or traditional uses is provided for general informational purposes.

Unless expressly permitted under applicable food law, our products and website content are not intended to claim that a food can diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease.

You should seek appropriate professional advice if you have concerns about whether a particular food or ingredient is suitable for you.

6. Placing an order

You must provide accurate and complete information when placing an order, including your:

  • name;
  • billing information;
  • delivery address; and
  • contact information.

Before submitting your order, you will have an opportunity to review the information entered and correct errors.

The checkout will make clear that placing the order creates an obligation to pay.

These requirements reflect the current UK rules for electronic ordering.

7. Order acknowledgement and contract formation

When you submit an order, we may send you an automated acknowledgement confirming that we have received it.

An acknowledgement of receipt does not necessarily mean that we have accepted your order.

Unless we expressly state otherwise, the contract between you and Ceylons Grove is formed when we send confirmation that your order has been accepted or dispatched.

If we cannot accept an order before the contract has been formed, for example because:

  • the product is unavailable;
  • we cannot deliver to the address supplied;
  • payment has not been authorised;
  • there is an obvious error in the product or price information; or
  • we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity,

we will inform you and will not charge you, or will refund any payment already taken.

We will not retrospectively cancel an accepted consumer contract simply because it is commercially inconvenient for us to fulfil it.

8. Prices

Prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated.

The price shown to a customer must include unavoidable taxes, charges and mandatory fees that can reasonably be calculated in advance.

Delivery charges that depend on the order or destination will be clearly disclosed, or the method of calculating them made clear, before you commit to purchase.

Optional services or additional charges will not be added without your express consent.

9. Payment

Available payment methods will be shown at checkout.

Payment may be processed through Shopify and/or authorised third-party payment providers.

You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.

We reserve the right to refuse an order where payment cannot be authorised or where we reasonably believe a transaction may be fraudulent or unlawful.

10. Product availability

All products are subject to availability.

We try to keep stock information accurate, but occasionally a product may become unavailable after an order is submitted.

If we cannot supply a product before accepting the order, we will notify you and refund any payment taken for that product.

Where a contract has already been formed, your rights regarding non-delivery remain protected by law.

11. Delivery

Available delivery services, estimated times and applicable charges will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

Unless a different delivery period has been agreed with you, goods must normally be delivered without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is entered into.

Delivery estimates are estimates rather than guaranteed dates unless we expressly agree that a particular date is guaranteed.

Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for problems caused solely by incorrect delivery information supplied by you, although this does not affect responsibilities that remain ours under consumer law.

12. Risk during delivery

Where we arrange delivery, the goods remain our responsibility until they come into your physical possession, or the possession of a person you identified to receive them.

We will not require you to pursue our courier for goods lost or damaged before delivery.

The position may be different if you independently arrange a carrier that we did not offer as a delivery option.

This reflects section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

13. Cancellation and change-of-mind returns

UK consumers purchasing online normally have a statutory right to cancel eligible contracts within 14 days after receiving the goods.

After notifying us of cancellation, the customer normally has a further 14 days to return eligible goods.

There are statutory exceptions, including certain goods that deteriorate or expire rapidly and certain sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed.

Full details are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Your statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are not reduced by these Terms.

14. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods

If you receive goods that are faulty, damaged, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or materially different from their description, please contact:

info@ceylonsgrove.com

Where legally applicable, consumers may have the 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods, in addition to other remedies available after that period.

Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for further details.

15. Best-before dates and storage

Our food products should be stored and prepared according to the instructions shown on the packaging.

A best-before date relates primarily to quality rather than automatically indicating that a product becomes unsafe immediately after that date.

Do not consume a product where:

  • the packaging appears compromised;
  • there are signs of contamination or deterioration;
  • the product has been recalled; or
  • there is another reasonable food-safety concern.

Contact us if you have concerns about a product received from us.

16. Product recalls and safety notices

If we become aware of a safety issue affecting a product that we have supplied, we may contact affected customers using appropriate order contact information and/or publish a recall or safety notice.

Customers should follow any instructions contained in an official product recall or safety notice.

17. Promotions and discount codes

From time to time, we may provide discount codes, promotional prices or special offers.

Promotions may be subject to separate conditions such as:

  • expiry dates;
  • minimum purchase requirements;
  • restrictions to particular products; or
  • one use per customer.

Any material conditions will be communicated clearly.

18. Your use of our website

You may use our website for lawful personal and commercial interactions with Ceylons Grove.

You must not knowingly:

  • use the website unlawfully or fraudulently;
  • attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the website;
  • introduce malicious software;
  • attempt unauthorised access to our systems;
  • scrape or reproduce substantial parts of our website in breach of applicable rights; or
  • use our branding in a way that falsely suggests an association, endorsement or authorisation.

We may take reasonable steps to protect the website and our customers where we identify misuse.

19. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its original content, including Ceylons Grove branding, logos, product artwork, photographs, graphics, written material and website design, are owned by or licensed to Ceylons Grove Ltd and may be protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual-property laws.

You may view and use the website for normal personal shopping purposes.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit protected Ceylons Grove material without permission unless the law otherwise permits it.

20. Third-party services and links

Our website may contain integrations or links involving third parties such as:

  • Shopify;
  • payment processors;
  • delivery providers; and
  • social-media platforms.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for unrelated content operated independently by third parties. However, using third parties does not remove responsibilities that UK consumer law places on us for your purchase from Ceylons Grove.

21. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.

In particular, nothing attempts to exclude responsibility for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot lawfully be excluded;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • faulty goods;
  • goods that are not as described;
  • rights that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; or
  • any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

UK government guidance specifically warns businesses that terms attempting to remove responsibility for matters such as injury, faulty goods or goods that are not as described cannot be enforced.

For losses where limitation is legally permitted, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.

These consumer Terms are intended for purchases principally for personal and domestic purposes. Separate liability arrangements may apply to wholesale/business contracts.

22. Events outside our reasonable control

We may sometimes be affected by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, transport disruption, industrial action, natural disasters or significant failures of infrastructure.

Where this affects an order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and communicate material delays.

This section does not remove statutory rights you may have regarding delayed or failed delivery.

23. Privacy and personal information

We process personal information in accordance with applicable UK data-protection law and our Privacy Policy.

Information needed to fulfil an order may be shared with appropriate service providers, such as payment providers and delivery companies.

Please read our separate:

Privacy Policy
Cookie Policy

for further information.

24. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with a product, order or service, please contact us first so that we can investigate.
